Because it has twin tuners you can watch one digital channel while recording another, or record two channels simultaneously whilst watching a previous recording. The LG RHT497H is a good value mid-range do-it-all digital freeview recorder with 160GB HDD at a great price.
It comes with a built in Freeview+ tuner, DVD recorder and 160GB hard disk to give a maximum recording time of 477 hours or 43 hours in best quality – fine for most people but if you’re a telly addict you may be able to fill it up with a little effort !
It’s easy to set up and to operate in basic modes – recording, playback, DVD player. The remote control can even be set up to activate basic TV functions such as changing channels and volume control.

You can fit from 35 hours (top quality XP recording mode) up to 279 hours (lowest quality EP mode) onto the hard disk. It has only one Freeview tuner so you’ll still probably need a Freeview set top box or TV equipped with a built in digital tuner, but the good news is it’s Freeview+ so you get the full range of features including series recording, pause live TV and split recording.
