Ridge Hill switchover completed

Viewers need to retune Freeview equipment to receive all channels.
All analogue TV channels in Herefordshire, south Shropshire and parts of Gloucestershire were switched off for good today, signalling the dawn of an all-digital era for more than 280,000 households.

Shortly after midnight, analogue BBC One, ITV1, Channel 4 and Channel 5 were turned off permanently at the Ridge Hill transmitter group, enabling extra channels to be broadcast from 19 local relay transmitters serving 15,000 homes. (more…)
