The Wharfedale LP160DTRHDMI is a pretty impressive piece of kit for the money – not many freeview recorders give you twin tuners and a 160Gb hard disk for less than £100 ! Because it has twin tuners you can watch one digital channel while recording another, or record two channels simultaneously whilst watching a previous recording. It comes with a comprehensive 98 page manual that is clear enough so you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to understand it. The LG RHT497H is a good value mid-range do-it-all digital freeview recorder with 160GB HDD at a great price.
It comes with a built in Freeview+ tuner, DVD recorder and 160GB hard disk to give a maximum recording time of 477 hours or 43 hours in best quality – fine for most people but if you’re a telly addict you may be able to fill it up with a little effort !
It’s easy to set up and to operate in basic modes – recording, playback, DVD player. The remote control can even be set up to activate basic TV functions such as changing channels and volume control.
